Let's Talk Spiritual Grounding...

 Yesterday we went to church. Not trying to offend anyone. IF you are not about church or religion etc, Stay with me....please don't tune me out just yet.  My family stood in the front row as always.  As I looked down the row at my kids, I realized how lucky I am. I knew already. But the realization hit me harder in that moment. Like, really lucky. God truly blessed me. They are really good kids.  Life is moving way faster than we want it to. They are growing, changing and showing their selves to us in the most unexpected, good and surprising ways. Their thoughts and feelings about life, newsworthy things,  life, what is happening at school, with friends, others they know. Interests and what they want to do when they graduate high school. Personal views on how they are being raised and, yes, call us out on things we can do better in their opinion. Because let's face it and be honest with ourselves, no parent is perfect, and there are things we can all change or be better. Somet

Let's Talk Summertime Blues......

   Summertime brings a feeling of bittersweet for many of us and how  fast time flies.     I am reminded  how at the beginning of the summer it seems like  time  slowly creeps like molassass on a cold day. Then as days pass,  we cannot believe that it is ending. The days are bittersweet for   us lately. Our oldest son bought his first car, our  daughter  graduated from  culinary school, our next oldest daughter  graduates next year and and our next oldest son  turned fifteen.  Fifteen!!  We have five kids left to graduate from school,  As much as I say I will stop and enjoy the time, I will,  but it will go by faster than it started.  I will have memories  that will  carry us. Then pass those onto our kids. And the cycle  continues.  AS mom we sit and think  about all the time  we have left with  our  kids, how we feel like they are going to be  small forever, the  mundane routine we become for our babies and toddlers, then teens  and their budding social lives.   Then suddenly, we wak
